Abstract
Cryptography is one of the key ingredients in a successful information assurance program. In this chapter, cryptography as it relates to information assurance in the modern commercial age will be discussed. Included will be a discussion of the role of cryptography in e-commerce, algorithms; public and private key; key management; digital signatures; and the world of PKI.
