Abstract
The natural history of intracranial aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations is difficult to determine accurately, because those presenting with haemorrhage usually require surgical treatment. The majority of those who have not bled are not discovered, although this may change with the wider availability of magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance angiography.
