Abstract
More than the development of a simple technique or algorithm solving a precise problem, cloth simulation and garment animation require a collection of new advances in many different areas, such as mechanical simulation, collision detection, geometric modeling, and user interfaces. This chapter summarizes the state-of-art technologies available, and which are all needed for developing the realistic and efficient simulation of complex garments. Final design and catwalk examples are provided to illustrate the new advances.
