Abstract

In recent years it has become increasingly necessary to capture information on uncertainty, imprecision, and ambiguity along with precise values in databases. Fuzzy set theory has been established as a useful tool for representing imprecision and grades of membership. It has also been integrated with the relational database model and proven to be an excellent mechanism for expressing relationships among attribute values and imprecision in querying [1].
