An Overview of Knowledge Discovery in Databases: Recent Progress and Challenges

  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: Workshops in Computing ((WORKSHOPS COMP.))

Abstract

I examine the state of the art in Knowledge Discovery in Databases and review progress in several research areas, including discovery of models, multistrategy discovery systems, and detection of changes and deviations. I describe a number of successful applications and discuss the remaining challenges for further research and application development.
