Abstract

Regarding the pathogenesis of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) the adhesion of leukocytes to microvascular endothelial cells and the pericapillary halo are of central interest. Aim of our investigation was therefore to examine the correlation between thickness of pericapillary type IV collagen layer, basal membrane alterations and transcutaneous oxygen tension (TcPO2).
