Abstract
Gastrointestinal symptoms are commonly associated with advanced cancer. Some of these symptoms are easily recognised, for example, dysphagia associated with oesophageal cancer and intestinal obstruction associated with inoperable bowel cancer. However, many patients suffer unnecessarily from symptoms such as constipation and nausea, which are more common but less obvious. This chapter reviews the management of dysphagia, constipation, diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting, and intestinal obstruction.
