Abstract
The CIM-Fabrik (CIM Factory) Hannover GmbH has been in existence since early 1988. It was founded by three professors: Tönshoff (Institute for Production Engineering and Machine Tools, IFW), Doege (Institute for Forming Machines, IFUM) and Wiendahl (Institute for Production Plant Engineering, IFA) of the University of Hannover. The foundation is meant as an institution for technology transfer (Figure 1).
