Abstract

An ISPF application consists of one or more functions. An ISPF function is a program, command procedure or selection panel which has been invoked using an ISPF service. Such functions may use ISPF services (e.g. display a panel), invoke host environment services (e.g. TSO commands) or invoke a further function. The method of invoking an ISPF function depends on whether the function is being called from within the ISPF environment. Although ISPF usually runs as a dialogue application, it can operate in batch provided no interaction is required.
