Abstract
A language which facilitates abstract definitions of graphical notations and the human-computer interaction with them has been developed. It supports a methodology independent Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tool for the construction of Object Orientated (00) software but can be applied to information systems which employ graphical notations. Arbitrary notations and dialogues for 00 models can be described and modified using this language without reconstruction of the CASE environment. Its utilisation allows an experimental approach to CASE tool development and 00 methodology evaluation.
