Abstract
The paper presents a systematic approach to formalisation of events in Fault Trees. The formal meaning of events is given in terms of the Extended CSDM model. The paper gives an algorithm which guides through the process of event formalisation together with some classification of the typical event classes. The approach is illustrated by a number of examples which present formalisation of events derived from real Fault Trees.
