Abstract
For the vast majority of patients, exercise stress testing is the preferable mode of physiologic stress as it offers insight into functional capacity. However in conditions when a patient cannot exercise maximally or has a contraindication to exercise testing (Table 10.1), pharmacologic agents may be used in conjunction with myocardial perfusion imaging to assess patients with known or suspected coronary artery disease.
