  • Chapter
Endocrinology and Diabetes

Abstract

A 25-year-old woman is referred by her primary care provider with headache, arthralgia and sweating. Systematic history and clinical examination suggest growth hormone excess – acromegaly. The diagnosis is confirmed on biochemical testing. This chapter discusses the appropriate investigation and management of patients with acromegaly, with particular emphasis on recent advances in clinical care and insights provided by contemporary research.
