Research on Cluster-Based Routing Algorithm for Improved Wireless Sensor

Abstract

Alternate election of cluster heads between even clustering and fixed threshold are two common ways of traditional clustering algorithm in which unbalanced energy consumption and unreasonable clustering head selection will come into being which causes energy to be consumed beforehand and network life span to become short. In order to lengthen the network life cycle and further raise energy utilization efficiency, an improved algorithm in which wireless sensor routes are clustered. This algorithm applies uneven clustering strategy to balance energy consumption between clusters taking advantage of selection mechanism of threshold clustering heads based on dump energy and doing simulation experiments on algorithm in NS2 platform in which compares and analyzes node livability and overall network energy consumption. Simulation result shows that the improved algorithm can balance the network energy consumption which saves energy of clustering head node and further lengthens life span of network.
