The Benefits of Bad Teaching
It is proposed that IT academics are inclined to put too much time and effort into teaching well. The result need not necessarily redound to the benefit of either the teacher or the student. It may rob the teacher of time that could be more valuably spent on other academic activities. It tends to deprive the student of the benefits of self-discovery, intellectual ownership and responsibility.
