Abstract
A 20-year-old man was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia with translocation (8;21). He achieved complete remission after two induction chemotherapy courses, and subsequently received two consolidation courses and an intensification course. Three years later, he presented with central nervous system relapse and 15% blasts in the bone marrow, despite normal blood counts. He received salvage chemotherapy and cranial irradiation. Second complete remission was achieved.
