Abstract

An unfavourable aspect of the design method is the very high order of the resulting controllers. Boyd et al. [30] give three possible uses for controllers produced by this method: they may be implemented in full, reduced order controllers may be derived from them, or they may be used as a standard against which controllers designed by other methods are measured. This chapter examines the first two alternatives.
