Flexible Computer-Integrated Manufacturing Structure of Global Network Type — Case Study in Japan
Special attention must be paid to both the purpose and the origins of the flexible computer-integrated manufacturing structure (FCIMS) of global network type systems. Manufacturing systems have a number of key factors in their design principles, function and performance which are characterized by the cultural background of their origins. It is difficult, as a result, to obtain an overall view of FCIMS with the limited perspective of a case study conducted in one country.
