Abstract

In this chapter we investigate the use of multimedia conferencing systems to support the process of collaborative writing. It is a case study in which we report on the production of this chapter as a team effort, with all interaction between team members taking place through the facilities provided by the CAR multimedia conferencing system (CAD/CAM for the Automotive Industry under Research for Advanced Communications in Europe (RACE)) supplemented by electronic mail (email) and a shared filestore.
