Abstract

In crack problems, the most interesting region is that around the crack tip because in this region the variation of the stresses and strains is steep. So, while solution of the problem becomes difficult by classical experimental methods of stress and strain analysis, in contrast, mathematical analysis of the problem shows significant progress.
