Abstract

In the preceeding chapters we have begun to learn something about the Hough Transform. If we wish to become more expert it is necessary to consult the available literature. An excellent comprehensive review of available methods up to and including 1987 is given by Illingworth [Illingworth et al 1988]. From such a review we can see that there are many different kinds of Hough Transform. It is difficult to know how to begin to categorize them. In this chapter we will develop a system of classification and update existing reviews where appropriate.
