Abstract
This chapter deals with the determination of the acoustic output of an ultrasonic scanner — in other words a system which is generating a non-static beam of ultrasound. Such systems could be mechanical sector, linear- or phased-array scanners. It is assumed here that the only types of measurement being made are those using hydrophones.
