Genetic aspects of the CBA × DBA/2 and B10 × B10.A models of murine pregnancy failure and its prevention by lymphocyte immunisation

Abstract

Dr. David Clark first highlighted the research value of the CBA × DBA/2 model of murine pregnancy failure when he recorded an increased rate of spontaneous resorption in CBA/J females (H-2k) mated to DBA/2 males (H-2d), which did not occur in another H-2k × H-2d mating, namely C3H females mated to DBA/2 males.(1) Soon afterwards it was discovered that CBA/J females mated to another H-2d male (Balb/c) also had a normal resorption rate.
