Ankylosing Spondylitis and Reiter’s Disease

Abstract

Although very different in their clinical presentation and course, ankylosing spondylitis and Reiter’s disease have a number of significant features in common. The most important of these are sacro-iliitis, a high incidence of the histocompatibility antigen HLA-B27, and their effects on the heart.
