Abstract
Throughout 1983, attempts by the Infant Formula Action Coalition (INFACT) to revitalise the boycott against Nestlé failed. A much publicised international petition drive aimed at collecting one million signatures for delivery at the Nestlé Annual General Assembly “to demonstrate international concern over this issue” and symbolise the one million babies estimated to die each year “from infant formula abuse” [1], succeeded in achieving only 10% of its aim.
