Abstract
In 1957 the Windscale Works of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority at Sellafield, Cumberland, was primarily concerned with the production of Pu. It consisted essentially of two air-cooled, graphite-moderated, natural U reactors together with the chemical processing plant required for the treatment of irradiated U metal and the associated analytical and research laboratories.
For consistency, abbreviations used for metric units conform to AMA style specifications, which may vary from SI conventions.
