Abstract

The justification for the exploitation of safety-critical research is not just a question of economics but of saving life and limb. However, the obstacles to exploitation are considerable not least because of cultural differences between researchers and exploiters. The need for the integration of research results and awareness initiatives as precursors to dissemination and exploitation are discussed, as is the need for everyone to be committed to exploitation.
