Abstract
Hypoxia during anaesthesia is potentially dangerous but its early detection has been successfully accomplished by a new non-invasive procedure introducing fast, uninterrupted digital readings which allow a constant check on oxygen saturation. We have carried out a preliminary investigation on the variation in arterial saturation during anaesthesia in a group of adults, using the Biox III pulse oximeter (Ohmeda).
