Abnormal Development of the Skeletal System

  • Chapter
Pathology of Bone

Abstract

The classification of constitutional disorders of bone includes a vast number of different conditions. In many of them only a few cases have been described. It is not therefore proposed to attempt a comprehensive account of abnormalities of skeletal development, details of which are available elsewhere. This chapter concerns itself with dwarfism and some of the chondrodystrophies, osteogenesis imperfecta, osteopetrosis and a few other miscellaneous conditions.
