Abstract
The patient’s decision to seek help is often made against a fairly complex background and yet those who are consulted can be surprisingly limited by their poor insight into the help-seeking process.
“Patients come to see me because I’m the best doctor in town” said one flambuoyant colleague, to which one of his patients retorted under her breath “Only because you are most easily available.”
