Abstract
Any appreciation of the pathology of the nervous system must be based upon an understanding of the anatomical and functional complexity of the brain. The detailed anatomy of pathways and neuronal groups in the brain is well expounded in larger texts but there are a number of general principles in the organisation of the CNS which can be stated here as an introduction to neuropathology.
