Abstract

Abnormalities of vertebral development such as odontoid hypoplasia, hemivertebrae and failure of segmentation are components of a number of bone dysplasias. Of these, the Klippel-Feil syndrome and the spondylocostal dysostoses have vertebral anomalies as a principal feature.
