Abstract
This important deformity is characterised by an abnormally tall, broad head. In profile, the front of the head looks high and slopes back to the occiput which is less prominent than is usual (Fig. 12.1). The vertex of the head is often rather far forward, at or near the bregma. The forehead is steep and high, often broad, and usually rather flattened; there is a relative recession of the glabella. There may be mild hypertelorism. The lower face is usually unremarkable. Characteristically, both coronal sutures are fused, though other sutures may also be involved.
