Hazards and Errors in Anaesthesia

Abstract

Asymptomatic anaemia is not rare, but it is often only revealed after routine pre-anaesthetic examination. Continued intermittent bleeding from chronic menorrhagia in women, or from haemorrhoids in either sex, is a common cause. Malnutrition is also a factor in elderly people who live alone.
