Abstract

Designing large applications is a complicated process and fraught with difficulties. While hardware always behaves in a predictable way the same is not true of software. All the applications we use have some sort of bugs in them. Even if an application was perfect it would be virtually impossible to prove it. In recent years there have been a number of design methodologies which provide a way of designing software to minimise the errors. The latest in this long list is object oriented design and programming.
