Abstract
In order to exploit the advantages of object technology in large industrial Information System environments, additional enterprise orientation and user involvement are essential. Only the combination of business modelling and object-oriented design in an integrated fashion can leverage the promise of reuse and flexibility at the business level. ‘Object Business Modelling’ is a tool supported approach that addresses this need. Its goals are to tailor modelling to the needs of domain specialists and end-users and to hide many of the complexitites of system design through application and workflow generation. The requirements to the meta-model underlying this approach are described, as well as the tool requirements for graphical manipulation of the model.
