Abstract
This paper discusses some important implications of the OMG Request for Proposal (RFP) for “Common Business Objects”. In particular the general “shape” of the run-time business objects, and the Business Object Facility which enables and supports them. Before discussing implications, the paper expands on two concepts which are fundamental to the RFP objectives. These are “Interoperability” and “Simplicity”.
