Abstract

This investigation was designed to discover how far stereotypes of computer folk influenced users, particularly potential entrants to the profession. The target population reported in this chapter is a group of highly-able male and female sixth-formers. The hypothesis was that target groups would be affected significantly by stereotypes, with negative attitudes being stronger among female than male students.
