Abstract

We introduce this book with a discussion of why we need to consider professionalism within the software industry. Section 1.2 explores in more detail what we mean by term “professionalism”, Section 1.3 asks how “aware” is the responsible software engineer, and Section 1.4 presents a “roadmap” to the rest of the book.
