Abstract
The development process of the Personal Handyphone System in Japan has been described earlier in Chapter 9 of this book and initial products in Chapter 10. In this chapter we present the technical details of the PHS base technology and standard [1, 2], explaining the air interface structure and parameters, signalling structures and briefly summarising the network interface standards.
