Abstract

Even if the masses of all the planets, satellites and other bodies of the Solar System could be added together, they would form a body only about a thousandth of the mass of the Sun. As well as being our planetary system’s dominant body, the Sun is also the sole source of the copious amounts of light and heat so necessary for life on the Earth. The Sun is truly the king of the Solar System.
