Two Dimensional Systems Concepts for Industrial Web Processes

  • Conference paper
Advances in Control

Summary

Two dimensional (2D) system and signal process ideas are used as a paradigm for the analysis of industrial web processes. This applications driven approach to 2D systems gives a special perspective which directs the development of corresponding 2D identification and control algorithms. Web processes form a general class of engineering systems, which includes paper making, plastic extrusion and many treatment and conversion processes for sheet products. The analysis of web processes can be unified via the 2D paradigm to gives a fresh perspective to the modelling, control and sensing of an important class of manufacturing processes.
