Abstract
This chapter considers which patients should be selected for venous surgery. If, like the author, one is an enthusiast for operating on varicose veins there are very few patients who are not suitable for consideration provided that is what the patient wants. It is more a question of identifying the small group who are unsuitable. When considering which patients with venous ulcers might benefit, there is less certainty.
