Abstract

The alarming incidence of smoking among physicians and patients in Romania incited us to conduct this study. We distributed questionnaires on smoking to 250 pneumologists, who were a representative sample of the specialists in the country; 232 (94%) returned the forms. The group consisted of 167 women and 65 men, 70% of whom were 31–50 years old.
