Abstract

Since 1984, we have periodically evaluated the characteristics of smoking in Venezuela using amplified models from the questionnaires for youth and adults presented by Daniel Horn at a special epidemiological workshop organized by the UICC in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1983. These surveys were initiated before the anti-tobacco activities of the public health programme within the Integrated Programme against Risk Factors of the Division of Chronic Non-transmissible Diseases of the Ministry of Health and Social Assistance.
