Abstract

The chapter starts with a minimal MFC program. This example is used to introduce some of the essential information required to program using the MFC. This includes:

    • Associated constructor and parameters.

  • CWinApp — The base class from which you derive a windows application object. This is the class that initialises your application and runs it:

    • Associated constructor and parameters.

  • Message maps.

  • Project options.

  • Windows data types and naming conventions.

‘Though this be madness, yet there be method in’t.’
