Abstract

The description of calcaneal fractures as extra-articular or intra-articular (thalamic) is universally accepted. Thalamic fractures are a controversial issue in traumatology, particularly in terms of treatment. Although the current trend is towards surgery, which offers a wide range of options, conservative treatment also has its advocates.
