Abstract

Stress urinary incontinence refers to a symptom or sign. The International Continence Society has adopted the term “genuine stress incontinence” for the involuntary loss of urine when the intravesical pressure exceeds the maximum urethral pressure, in the absence of detrusor activity. The exact diagnosis can therefore be made only by a urodynamic study.
