Image Enhancement in Real Space

  • Chapter
Knowledge-Based Image Processing Systems

Part of the book series: Applied Computing ((APPLCOMP))

Abstract

The previous chapter showed how we may modify and enhance an image by utilising operations in Fourier or frequency space. This chapter shows how modifications to the image may be made, for the purpose of enhancement through transformations applied to the individual gray levels of the image: a process sometimes referred to as ‘gray level transformation’.
