Abstract
The last chapter provided a brief introduction to JavaBeans. This chapter looks in more detail at a number of features of JavaBeans. In particular, it examines how a builder tool finds out about the properties, methods and events associated with a Bean. It then discusses the more complex property types “bound”, “constrained” and “indexed”. It then considers the construction of a BeanInfo object and the serialization of beans, as well as property editors and customizers. Finally, a critique of the whole JavaBeans approach is presented.
